Bello Horror: La imagen de la revuelta en Walter Benjamin

Abstract

En este trabajo examinaré el vínculo entre el Denkbild Bello Horror y la referencia a la Liga Espartaquista que hace Walter Benjamina en Sobre el concepto de historia. Si bien aquél pequeño texto no ha sido tenido en cuenta en el contexto de las tesis, el montaje de imágenes visuales y sonoras, emociones y afectos políticos que Benjamin lleva allí a cabo constituye el núcleo de sus reflexiones sobre la temporalidad de la revuelta. Bello Horror reúne y articula plásticamente los elementos centrales de su concepción del levantamiento revolucionario y muestra la manera en que Benjamin concibe la relación entre la política y las imágenes.

In this paper I’ll research the connection established by Walter Benjamin’s between the Denkbild Beautiful Horror and the reference to the Spartacus League in On the Concept of History. Although this short text hasn’t been considered in this context, I’ll show that the visual and sound montage, political emotions and affects that Benjamin developed there is the kernel of his reflections on the temporality of the revolt. Beautiful Horror gathers and articulates in a plastic way the key elements of his idea of the revolutionary insurrection and shows how he conceives the link between politics and images.
