Kant y la instancia táctica de lo público. Cuestiones de gubernamentalidad

Abstract

Este artículo tiene como propósito el estudio de un texto muy conocido en el ámbito de la filosofía, "Respuesta a la pregunta ¿qué es la Ilustración? (1784), de I. Kant. De su funcionamiento como programa para un gobierno posible, tomando como pieza central la dimensión del o de lo público en dicho texto. Para ello, y en un primer momento expongo las lecturas que en lo general ha hehco de ese escrito M. Foucault. En segundo lugar, intento dibujar el diagrama que forman los términos öffenlichkeit y Publikum, señalando los elementos con los que se articulan, y las tensiones qeu se presentan entre los distintos usos. Por último, reflexionado sobre los usos y sentido de lo público tratando de caracterizar el modelo de racionalidad política presente.

The purpose of this article is studying An Answer to the Question: ‘What is Enlightenment?’ by Immanuel Kant —a renowned text in the field of philosophy— assuming the dimension of the public as a central piece of analysis. In order to do that, the lectures of Michel Foucault on the same text are presented in the first place. Se - cond, the diagram formed by the terms öffenlicht and Publikum is approached by pointing out their articulating elements and the tensions produced from their di - fferent uses. Finally, the uses and senses of what is public are reflected upon, while trying to characterize the current model of political rationality. This mutual operatio - nalization between the uses of the public in the text is noticeable as a particularly relevant and pertinent instance to evaluate diverse processes and phenomena, all re - lated to the problem of government in its political dimension
