Autoconciencia e ironía. Una lectura acerca de los orígenes del pensamiento romántico de Friedrich Schlegel

Abstract

El presente trabajo se concentra en la reseña de Los años de aprendizaje del Wilhelm Meister que realiza Friedrich Schlegel hacia 1798. A partir del examen de la misma, procura demostrar que los momentos críticos de la lectura schlegeliana del Wilhelm Meister de Goethe se hallaban orientados a cuestionar la propia perspectiva clasicista que el joven filósofo había sostenido algunos años más atrás en Sobre el estudio de la poesía griega. Según se intenta mostrar, esta autocrítica habría colocado a Schlegel en condiciones de problematizar los conceptos subjetivistas, que impregnaban su antigua concepción estética, y dado lugar a una teoría estética que tematizaba la necesidad y la imposibilidad, a la vez, de una representación acabada de la subjetividad.

This paper focuses on the review of Wilhelm Meister’s Years of Apprenticeship that makes Friedrich Schlegel 1798. From an examination of it, attempts to show that the critical moments schlegelian reading Goethe’s Wilhelm Meister were oriented to question the classicist’s perspective that the young philosopher had argued a few years ago in On the Study of Greek Poetry. As will attempt to demonstrate, this criticism would have allowed to Schlegel to problematize the subjectivist concepts that permeated its former conception of beauty, and have resulted in an aesthetic theory that was aware of the necessity and the impossibility of a completed representation of subjectivity.
