El olvido animal de Felisberto

Abstract

En los relatos “La mujer parecida a mí”, “El cocodrilo”, “Úrsula” y “Mur”, Felisberto Hernández explora las posibilidades imaginarias y formales de la semejanza humano-animal a través de un complejo tratamiento de las relaciones entre memoria y olvido, pasado y presente, presencia y ausencia. Los personajes que narran o protagonizan estas historias experimentan el encuentro con una animalidad perdida que, pese a sus esfuerzos de comprensión, no acaba de asumir una forma inteligible; solo pueden percibir continuidades que niegan una y otra vez la distinción humano/animal, que los arrojan a un territorio de incertidumbre. El trabajo propone una lectura de estos cuatro textos tomando como referencia principal algunas nociones del pensamiento nietzscheano acerca de la animalidad

In the stories “The Woman Who Looked Like Me”, “The Crocodile”, “Ursula” and “Mur”, Felisberto Hernández explores the imaginaries and formal possibilities of human-animal resemblance through a complex treatment of the relationship between memory and oblivion, past and present, presence and absence. The narrators or protagonists of these tales experience the encounter with a lost animality that, despite their efforts to understand it, does not assume an intelligible form. They can only perceive continuities that deny the human/animal distinction, that throw them into a territory of uncertainty. This paper proposes a reading of these four texts with main reference to some notions of Nietzsche’s thought about animality
