Héctor Rolando Rodríguez, Kiwi: haijin del Paraná

Abstract

El objetivo operativo del presente trabajo es señalar y analizar los rasgos de haiku en la poesía de Héctor Rolando Rodríguez (Santa Fe, Argentina, 1940-2011), alias Kiwi; sobre todo, en su primer poemario, Poemas (1986). Revisamos en él algunas de las principales marcas de esta modalidad lírica japonesa que, según destacados estudiosos (Paz, 1982; Villalba, 1983; Silva, 2005; Svanascini, 2007; Haya, 2012; Takaki, 2023; Arellano, 2024), son propias del haiku. De tales marcas hay quince que están presentes en Poemas. Proponemos la hipótesis de que Kiwi, que produce su obra en íntima relación con la naturaleza, es un haijin del Paraná, entendido este como región (Ledesma, 1964; Prieto A., [1973] 2022). En efecto, posee la mayoría de las características propias del llamado “hombre de haiku” (Silva, 2005). El objetivo último de nuestro análisis es destacar el lugar de Kiwi, poeta y alfarero, no sólo como autor regional, a causa del vivencial vínculo con su medioambiente, sino también como parte de una tradición mucho más amplia, incluso del mundo.

The operational objective of this work is to point out and analyze the features of haiku in the poetry of Héctor Rolando Rodríguez (Santa Fe, Argentina, 1940-2011), alias Kiwi; especially, in his first collection of poems, Poemas (1986). We review in it some of the main features of this Japanese lyrical modality that, according to prominent scholars (Paz, 1982; Villalba, 1983; Silva, 2005; Svanascini, 2007; Haya, 2012; Takaki, 2023; Arellano, 2024), are typical of haiku. There are fourteen of such features that are present in Poemas. We propose the hypothesis that Kiwi, who produces his work in intimate relationship with nature, is an haijin of the Paraná as a region (Ledesma, 1964; Prieto A., [1973] 2022). In fact, he has most of the characteristics of the so-called “haiku man” (Silva, 2005). The ultimate objective of our analysis is to highlight the place of Kiwi, poet and potter, not only as an author of a region, due to the experiential link with his environment, but also as part of a much broader tradition, even of the world.
