Resumen
This article examines the Latin American World Model (LAWM) proposed by the Bariloche Foundation as a response to critiques of the ‘Limits to Growth’ report (Club of Rome), emphasising social and political factors over physical limits to development. It traces the emergence of LAWM within the context of the oil crisis and advocates for a more equitable global society from a ‘Third World’ point of view. Drawing from documents in Carlos Mallmann's collection, it explores LAWM's influence on subsequent debates and its spectral presence in contemporary discourse.
