Estudio morfométrico de Sabellaria nanella (Polychaeta: Sabellariidae) en Monte Hermoso, Argentina

Abstract

El crecimiento relativo y la estructura de la población del poliqueto Sabellaria nanella fueron investigados en la zona intermareal de la costa sur de Buenos Aires. Tres muestreos puntuales fueron realizados en mayo de 2009, abril de 2010 y noviembre de 2010. La alometría negativa entre la longitud total en relación con los otros dos parámetros medidos (la longitud caudal y el diámetro de la corona opercular) muestran que esta característica es una buena medida para estimar el tamaño individual, la cual fue utilizada para construir la estructura de tallas la población. La población de S. nanella presenta una distribución de frecuencias de tallas polimodal, con un pico de reclutamiento en el verano.

The relative growth and population structure of the polychaeto Sabellaria nanella were studied in the intertidal zone of a rocky shore on the south coast of Buenos Aires, in May 2009, April 2010 and November 2010. The negative allometry between the total length, the caudal length and the opercular crown diameter shows that this feature is a good measurement for estimating individual size and so it was used in the analysis of population structure. This population of S. nanella shows a polymodal size–frequency distribution with a recruitment peak in the summer.
