Feminismo a la cubana: el trabajo invisible en la teoría de Isabel Larguía

Abstract

Las discusiones en torno al trabajo doméstico y de cuidados, especialmente desde las lecturas marxistas, han sido un terreno fértil de debates. A partir de los acontecimientos ocurridos a mediados del siglo XX, han profundizado la reflexión explorando las posibilidades de la revolución socialista. En este contexto emerge la obra de Isabel Larguía, una rosarina viviendo en la Cuba revolucionaria. El objetivo del presente texto tiene por objetivo presentar su propuesta enfocándonos en el concepto de “trabajo invisible”, con el cual reflexionó sobre la problemática del trabajo doméstico y de cuidados. Examinaremos las justificaciones ideológicas que señala, así como las consecuencias de esta problemática. Además, se abordarán algunos puntos de convergencia con otras teorías y la difusión internacional que tuvo la obra.

The discussions around domestic and care work, particularly throughout Marxist readings, have sparked heated debates. At the same time, the events of the mid-20th century have deepened reflection on the possibilities of socialist revolution. It is in this context that Isabel Larguía's work emerges, an Argentinian living in the revolutionary Cuba. The aim of this text is to present her theory, focusing on the concept of 'invisible labor' through which she reflected on the issues of domestic and care work. We will explain the ideological justifications she points out, as well as the consequences of this issue, also highlighting some points of connection with other theories and the international diffusion that her work received.
