Resumen
This chapter presents an innovative method consisting of the synthesis and further modification of materials aiming for the two stages of hydrogen technology. The selected materials are intermetallics (TM's) with AB-type, and two synthesis steps are included in the method. The first one consists of the synthesis of the materials by mechanical alloying (MA) and mechanical milling (MM). The second one involves the adjustment of the material by changes of heating/annealing processes under different types of atmosphere, times, and temperatures. Materials obtained by annealing under inert atmospheres (Ar) are characterized for the application of thermal compression of hydrogen (TCH), while the materials obtained by heating under air are aimed for the use of gross purification of hydrogen (GPH).
