Simulation is a traditional tool in operations research that has gained new momentum within the framework of the Industry 4.0 paradigm. Simulation models are useful for studying system performance under various changes without the need to experiment on the real system, which can be very costly. In this line, this work proposes the development of an initial simulation model for a real heavy vehicle technical inspection workshop, which is type of system that has not been studied sufficiently under this paradigm. The simulation model it is also used to study the performance of the system to some modifications to evaluate their impact on the quality of service provided to the client.
