La construcción de una narrativa sobre la Shoa en adolescentes de la colectividad judía

Abstract

El presente trabajo se enmarca en la psicología cultural y social, que entienden a la memoria colectiva como un proceso dinámico, que se constituye en las interacciones con otros y con el ambiente. Específicamente, el objetivo de la investigación es estudiar la construcción de una narrativa sobre la Shoa por parte de 7 adolescentes de la comunidad judía con edades entre 16 y 17 años, quienes en su ante-último año de escuela secundaria realizan un viaje a Polonia para participar de la “Marcha por la Vida”. Utilizando entrevistas clínicas como instrumento para el relevamiento de datos, se buscó indagar si dicha experiencia produjo cambios en su comprensión del pasado colectivo, y particularmente en sus juicios morales sobre el mismo. Contrariamente a las hipótesis planteadas en el estudio, no se identificó una transformación en la narrativa con respecto a sus contenidos, juicio, complejidad y contextualización luego del viaje realizado a los sitios de memoria. Sin embargo, los resultados obtenidos expresan la prevalencia de una fuerte identificación con las víctimas del genocidio. A su vez, en el relato de los participantes luego del viaje de estudios, se destacaron diversos símbolos y elementos que hacen a la construcción de una identidad nacional y religiosa.

The present paper is framed in cultural and social psychology, which understand collective memory as a dynamic process, which is built in interactions with others and with the environment. Specifically, the aim of this research is to study the construction of a narrative about the Shoa by 7 adolescents from the Jewish community between the ages of 16 and 17, who in their junior year of high school take a trip to Poland to participate in the “March for Life”. Using clinical interviews as an instrument to collect data, we sought to inquire whether this experience produced changes in their understanding of the collective past, and particularly in their moral judgments about it. Contrary to the hypotheses raised in the study, a transformation in the narrative regarding its contents, judgment, complexity and context was not identified after the trip to the memory sites. However, the results obtained express the prevalence of a strong identification with the victims of the genocide. At the same time, in the participant’s’ account after the study tour, various symbols and elements that take part in the construction of a national and religious identity were highlighted.
