De la génesis al signo: En torno a los problemas del joven Derrida

Abstract

En este artículo ofrezco una interpretación de los primeros años de trabajo de Derrida, fundamentalmente de 1954 a 1962. Sostengo que el enfoque más corriente para abordar las producciones filosóficas del sesentismo francés (a saber, el enfrentamiento entre fenomenología y estructuralismo) resulta inadecuada cuanto menos en su caso, y que es más útil pensar en términos de los “problemas” que concentran su atención en esos años. En ese punto sigo la propuesta de Leonard Lawlor, que recuperó y estableció “el problema de la génesis” y “el problema del signo” para abordar sus primeros pasos filosóficos. Sin embargo, a diferencia suyo sostengo que la cuestión del signo no está directamente supeditada a la lingüística, y que es iluminador reparar en el influjo que tuvo la problematización blanchotiana de la escritura sobre el joven Derrida.

In this article, I offer an interpretation of Derrida's early work, primarily from 1954 to 1962. I argue that the most common approach to address the philosophical productions of the French sixties (namely, the confrontation between phenomenology and structuralism) is at least inadequate in his case, and that it is more helpful to think in terms of the "problems" that he concentrated his attention on in those years. In this regard, I follow Leonard Lawlor's proposal of thinking in terms of "the problem of genesis" and "the problem of the sign" to address his early philosophical steps. However, unlike him, I maintain that the question of the sign is not directly subordinated to linguistics, and that it is illuminating to notice the influx of Blanchot's problematization of writing on the young Derrida.
