Antropología y deporte: Un análisis acerca de la inserción del investigador como no jugador

Abstract

En este trabajo se propone iniciar una serie de reflexiones metodológicas acerca del proceso de mi tesis doctoral. La misma abordó el proceso de profesionalización y cambio del deporte quadball en Argentina, ubicándose en la intersección temática de los fan studies y los estudios sociales del deporte. El eje estará en la construcción del papel del investigador en tanto no jugador. Se analizarán los puntos fuertes y débiles de esta construcción, dando cuenta también de la demanda por parte de los practicantes de un involucramiento en la actividad deportiva. Esto último expresa las vicisitudes de la inserción del antropólogo en los mundos sociales que investiga. Se extraen conclusiones vinculadas a la necesidad de ampliar lo trabajado hacia la dimensión afectiva y el refuerzo de la vigilancia epistemológica.

This paper aims to initiate a series of methodological reflections on the process of my doctoral thesis. It deals with the professionalisation and transformation of the sport of quadball in Argentina, located at the thematic intersection of fan studies and social studies of sport. The focus is on the construction of the role of the researcher as a non-player, analysing the strengths and weaknesses of this construction, and taking into account the demand of practitioners to be involved in sporting activity. The latter expresses the vicissitudes of the anthropologist's insertion into the social worlds he studies. Conclusions are drawn concerning the need to extend work towards the affective dimension and to strengthen epistemological supervision.
