Apostillas de un palimpsesto cultural: el ¡¡Juan Moreira!! de José Massaroli

Abstract

Desde la publicación del folletín de Eduardo Gutiérrez en 1879-1880, Juan Moreira demostró ser uno de los textos más palimpsestuosos de la cultura argentina, pues sus reescrituras se volvieron una apuesta constante donde se redefinían los sentidos originales en función de nuevas necesidades contextuales. Usufructuando las posibilidades de los géneros marginales (folletín, cancionero, radioteatro, historieta, etc.), las relecturas de la figura de Moreira actualizan la mitología del héroe en íntima relación con el carácter periférico de los géneros en que se fue amoldando la parábola del excluido social. El caso que nos ocupa, la historieta ¡¡Juan Moreira!!, con guión y dibujos de José Massaroli, se publicó durante los años 1983 y 1984 en el diario La Voz de Buenos Aires, y constituye un eslabón en las reapropiaciones discursivas de Moreira, cercano a las versiones poéticas de “Fragmentos de un Juan Moreira” (1975), de Juan José Saer, y “Moreira” (1987), de Néstor Perlongher. Nos interesa analizar los vínculos intertextuales entre la historieta y el folletín de Gutiérrez, a fin de evaluar las redefiniciones en la historia y la configuración del héroe y las factibles vinculaciones con el contexto de emergencia, en los inicios del retorno a la democracia en Argentina.

From the publication of serial of Eduardo Gutiérrez in 1879- 1880, Juan Moreira demonstrated to be one of the palimpsestuos texts of the Argentine culture, because their re-writings became a constant bet where the original senses based on new contextual needs were redefined. From the possibilities of the marginal sorts (serial, song, radiotheater, comic, etc.), the re-reading of the figure of Moreira update the mythology of the hero in intimate relation with the marginal character of the sorts in which it went adapted the parabola of the social excluded. The case that occupies us, the comic ¡¡Juan Moreira!! , with script and drawings of JoséMassaroli, published during years 1983 and 1984 in the newspaper La Voz of Buenos Aires, and constitutes a link in the discursivesreapropiaciones of Moreira, near the poetic versions of “Fragmentos de un Juan Moreira” (1975), of Juan JoséSaer, and “Moreira” (1987), of NéstorPerlongher. Interests us to analyze the intertextual bonds between the comic and serial of Gutiérrez, in order to evaluate the redefinitions in the history and the configuration of the hero and the feasible entailments with the emergency context, in the beginnings of the return to the democracy in Argentina.
