Investigar con/junto a las visualidades: incertidumbres y potencialidades

Abstract

This paper proposes to share positionings, becomings, uncertainties and potentialities of research with/along with visualities and also consider the views that (are) produced, as well as invisibilities and counter-visualities. The aim is to share possible heuristics of working with visualities, which are not limited to a superficial, decorative or merely literary understanding of the image. Visualities are understood from the complex semantic narratives that construct and structure them, also keeping in mind the sensitivities and material conditions through which they circulate, appropriate and reproduce. It is highlighted that the study and deepening with/along with visualities requires a transdisciplinary methodology as well as an in/end disciplinary one. This makes it possible to understand visualities from various epistemological, (aesthetic) and ontological angles, considering their materiality and the social relations that they produce, promote or limit, as well as the views that they create. In this context, methodologies, reflections and questions from the authors’ ongoing research are developed and shared, in order to continue investigating the potential of researching with/together with images.

El presente artículo propone compartir posicionamientos, devenires, incertidumbres y potencialidades de las investigaciones con/junto a las visualidades y considerar también las miradas produciendo(se), así como también las invisibilidades y contravisualidades. Se busca compartir posibles heurísticas del trabajo con visualidades, sin limitarse a una comprensión superficial, decorativa o meramente literaria de la imagen, sino aprehender las visualidades a partir de las narrativas semánticas complejas, las cuales las construyen y estructuran, teniendo presente también las sensibilidades y condiciones materiales mediante las cuales circulan, se apropian y reproducen. Se enfatiza en que el estudio y profundización con/junto a las visualidades requiere de una metodología transdisciplinar como también in/end disciplinar. Esto hace a la comprensión de las visualidades desde diversas aristas epistemológicas, (est)éticas y ontológicas, considerar no solo su materialidad sino también las relaciones sociales que producen, promueven o limitan, así como las miradas que gestan. Se presentan, entonces, las investigaciones en curso de las autoras. Se despliegan y comparten metodologías, reflexiones y preguntas con la intención de animar a seguir indagando sobre las potencialidades de investigar con/junto a las imágenes.
