¿Quién llega a ser contemporáneo? Una consideración sobre la temporalidad y la violencia en el pensamiento de Judith Butler

Abstract

El siguiente artículo se propone revisar un lugar específico de la obra de lx teóricx feminista Judith Butler, vinculado a su reflexión en torno a los marcos normativos que regulan y distribuyen el reconocimiento de manera diferencial (2010). Dentro de la obra de Butler dedicada a cuestionar quién cuenta como humano y bajo qué criterios de humanidad, se deslizan algunas consideraciones dedicadas a pensar el cruce entre violencia y tiempo. Toman cuerpo especialmente cuando la crítica de los marcos normativos está abocada a pensar cómo ciertos pueblos y culturas son enmarcadas como una humanidad difusa o como amenazas para la vida humana. No solo se pone en marcha una crítica de los marcos normativos culturales, sino también de aquellos marcos temporales que delimitan la esfera de lo que es una vida humana en este tiempo. Para señalar cómo los marcos normativos delimitan los criterios de inteligibilidad en términos temporales, se propone no solo un recorrido específico por la obra butleriana en donde temporalidad y marco se tocan, sino también un diálogo con el teórico Edward Said y la teórica Jasbir Puar para comprender el mapa geopolítico de las exclusiones que el marco temporal produce y reproduce.

The following article aims to review a specific place in the work of feminist theorist Judith Butler, linked to her reflection on the normative frames that regulate and distribute differential acknowledgement (2010). Within Butler's work dedicated to questioning who counts as human and under what criteria of humanity, there are some considerations dedicated to thinking about the intersection between violence and time. They take shape especially when the critique of normative frames is devoted to thinking about how certain peoples and cultures are framed as a diffuse humanity or as threats to human life. Not only is a critique of cultural normative frames set in motion, but also of those temporal frames that delimit the sphere of what is a human life in this time. In order to point out how normative frames delimit the criteria of intelligibility in temporal terms, we propose not only a specific tour through Butler's work where temporality and frame touch, but also a dialogue with the theorists Edward Said and Jasbir Puar to understand the geopolitical map of exclusions that the temporal frame produces and reproduces.
