Desde la periferia del mundo y al fin de los tiempos: La acción de la literatura según Blanchot

Abstract

En este artículo ensayo una lectura atenta de “La littérature et le droit à la mort”, un escrito temprano de Blanchot que constituye una referencia privilegiada a la hora de comprender su abordaje de la literatura. Para ello recapitulo los debates que permean la posguerra francesa, de donde recojo como hilo conductor para el análisis la relación habida entre acción y negación. A través de un examen de la naturaleza del lenguaje, de su modalización en la literatura y de un debate con la noción hegeliana de infinito, la hipótesis que sostengo es que Blanchot lleva hasta sus últimas instancias cierta “potencia de negación” hasta sacarla de quicio, abrevando en una “negación del presente”.

In this article I attempt a detailed reading of “La littérature et le droit à la mort”, an early writing by Blanchot that constitutes a privileged reference when it comes to understanding his approach to literature. To do so, I recapitulate the debates that permeate the French post-war period, from which I collect as a guiding thread for the analysis the link between action and negation. Through an examination of the nature of language, its modalization in literature and a debate with the Hegelian notion of infinity, the hypothesis I maintain is that Blanchot carries a certain “power of negation” to its last moments until it is out of control leading to a “denial of the present”.
