Trasiegos y papeles: Cartas insumisas de una Madre de Plaza de Mayo (1977-1987)

Abstract

Atilio César Martínez Lagrava desapareció el 21 de junio de 1977 mientras cumplía el Servicio Militar Obligatorio durante la última dictadura cívico-militar en Argentina (1976-1983). Su madre, Mercedes Lagrava de Martínez, inició su búsqueda primeramente de manera individual y luego con las Madres de Plaza de Mayo. En ese tránsito guardó y ordenó cada papel que lo testimoniaba. En esta ocasión, de ese Archivo Personal hemos seleccionamos dominante, aunque no excluyentemente, las cartas de ese acervo hacia los poderes públicos para poner de manifiesto los sentidos y su valor para analizar las formas de resistencia y acción social frente a la dictadura cívico militar (1976-1983) y las ilusiones у decepciones durante la postdictadura por parte de Madres de Plaza de Mayo en una dimensión biográfica, indiciaria. Adicionalmente, entramado al análisis y explícito en las conclusiones, abordaremos algunas singularidades del género epistolar en un Archivo Personal: sus desafios, contingencias, la elocuencia compleja de las temporalidades y también los límites y potencias para la reconstrucción y análisis en la encrucijada entre lo individual y lo colectivo.

Atilio César Martínez Lagrava disappeared on 21 June 1977 while he was doing his compulsory military service during the last civil-military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983). His mother, Mercedes Lagrava de Martínez, began her search first individually and then with the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo. In that transit, she kept and ordered every piece of paper that bore witness to it. On this occasion, we have selected from this Personal Archive the letters from this collection to the public authorities, in order to highlight their meaning and their value for analysing, in a biographical dimension, the forms of resistance and social action against the civil-military dictatorship and the illusions and disappointments of the post-dictatorship on the part of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo. In addition, as part of the analysis and explicit in the conclusions, we will address some singularities of the epistolary genre in a Personal Archive: its challenges, contingencies, the complex eloquence of temporalities and also the limits and potencies for its reconstruction and analysis at the crossroads between the individual and the collective.
