Abstract

The aim of this paper is to explore the evolution and current state of archaeological databases in Argentina, with a focus on their role in heritage management and research. This study will examine the development of digital tools in Argentine archaeology, tracing their evolution from the 1960s to the present day. A key advancement has been the creation of open-access databases, such as BADACor, which facilitate the organization and sharing of archaeological data. Additionally, this paper will discuss how Argentina’s commitment to open access aligns with global trends towards applying FAIR principles, which ensure that archaeological data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable.

本稿の目的は、文化財管理と研究活動に焦点を当てつつ、アルゼンチンにおける考古学データベースの進展と現状を探求することである。まずは、1960年代に遡り、現在までのアルゼンチン考古学におけるデジタルツールの発展を検証する。特に重要な発展として、BaDaCorのようなオープンアクセスデータベースの構築が挙げられる。注目すべきは、これにより考古学データの整理と共有が容易になったことである。また、アルゼンチンにおけるオープンアクセスへの取り組みが、考古学データを「見つけられる（Findable）」「アクセスできる（Accessible）」「相互運用できる（Interoperable）」「再利用できる（Reusable）」ようにするという、国際的なデータ共有の原則、FAIR原則にどのように対応しているかについて論じる。
