Resumen
Numerous studies have centered on biomaterial design; but few have explored the link between the molecular structure of biomaterial components and cellular response. This research involved synthesizing copolymers with various fumaric esters and N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM), not only altering monomer type but also their composition. Initial structural characterization employed 1H-NMR and capillary viscosity techniques. PVA-supported membranes were then prepared, and contact angles measurements revealed the hydrophilic nature of all materials. Additionally, cytotoxicity and proliferation test with Raw 264.7 cells showed that materials derived from dicyclohexyl fumarate / NIPAM copolymer provided a more favorable environment for cell growth. In conclusion, this study suggests that cellular response is more influenced by the diversity of monomers in copolymer synthesis than by their specific compositions.
