Paisajes y lenguas viralatas: Fabián Severo y el portuñol de la frontera

Abstract

En su literatura, el escritor uruguayo Fabián Severo suele rememorar la vida de Artigas, pueblo en la frontera de Uruguay y Brasil. Es con su lengua materna, el portuñol, y solo con ella, que le es posible regresar allí. Y en este viaje de regreso, es el paisaje de la frontera que se ilumina. Así, este artículo toma impulso en la noción de “autobiogeografía” (M. Collot) con el objetivo de observar y analizar cómo el paisaje de la frontera, y el portuñol que se filtra a través de él, hacen presentes los recuerdos de la infancia.

In his literature, the Uruguayan writer Fabián Severo often reminisces about life in Artigas, a village on the border between Uruguay and Brazil. It is with his mother tongue, Portuñol, and only with it, that he is able to return there. And on this return journey, it is the landscape of the border that is illuminated. This article thus draws on the notion of "autobiogeography" (Collot, 2018) in order to observe and analyse how the landscape of the border, and the Portuñol that filters through it, make childhood memories present.
