Que los hay, los hay: Sobre el devenir político de los afectos en la letra de Judith Butler, más allá del giro afectivo

Abstract

El texto ofrece una lectura de la tematización butleriana de los afectos como problema político, sosteniendo como primera hipótesis que, lejos de ser unívoca, esa tematización está asediada por una ambivalencia conceptual que tiene implicancias sobre el modo mismo en que se entiende la política. De modo que, por una parte, damos con una idea de afecto como vulnerabilidad o precariedad que alude a una dimensión ontológica y ético-política evidenciada sobre todo en las disquisiciones butlerianas sobre el duelo; y, por otra parte, ubicamos una remisión del afecto —y, también, del duelo— a su distribución diferencial, administración o economía. Esa polivalencia del afecto trae consigo, sin embargo, una segunda pregunta: ¿es posible inscribir a Judith Butler en el giro afectivo? El artículo señala una relación de inscripción y trascendencia de la literatura butleriana respecto de ese campo temático, sosteniendo que, como una suerte de escritura fronteriza, la tematización butleriana de la vulnerabilidad permite pensar la relación entre política y afectos de otro modo que excede los circuitos del affective turn.

The text offers a reading of Butler's thematization of affect as a political problem, arguing as a first hypothesis that, far from being univocal, this thematization is hunted by a conceptual ambivalence that has implications on the very way in which politics is understood. Thus, on the one hand, we find an idea of affect as vulnerability or precariousness that alludes to an ontological and ethical-political dimension evidenced above all in Butler's disquisitions on mourning; and, on the other hand, we locate a referral of affect -and, also, of mourning- to its differential distribution, administration or economy. This ambivalence of affect brings with it, however, a second question: is it possible to inscribe Judith Butler in the affective turn? The article points to a relationship of inscription and transcendence of Butlerian literature with respect to this thematic field, arguing that, as a kind of borderline writing, Butler's thematization of vulnerability allows us to think the relationship between politics and affect in another way that exceeds the circuits of the affective turn.
