Mujeres artistas bonaerenses de la primera mitad del S. XX: Registro y análisis de dieciséis artistas en el Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes “Emilio Pettoruti”

Abstract

El artículo propone conocer a las mujeres artistas bonaerenses presentes en una de las series documentales del archivo del Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Emilio Pettoruti (Argentina): las llamadas “Fichas de artistas”. Se identificó la presencia de dieciséis mujeres nacidas entre 1880 y 1919 y el registro de información biográfica: nombre, domicilio, títulos y/o profesiones, premios obtenidos y salones en los que han expuesto. A partir de un análisis documental y considerando que las trayectorias de mujeres artistas de la provincia de Buenos Aires han sido escasamente reconocidas, se buscará responder: ¿quiénes fueron estas mujeres artistas?, ¿cuáles fueron sus trayectorias artísticas?, ¿cuántas tienen obras patrimoniales en el MPBA y ¿cuáles son los géneros y temáticas elegidas? Se pretende generar un aporte a la historia del arte local, con el fin de conocer la presencia y producción de las primeras mujeres artistas bonaerenses registradas en el archivo del Museo.

This paper highlights women artists from Buenos Aires who are featured in one of the documentary series from the Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Emilio Pettoruti (Argentina) archive: the so-called “artist files”. Sixteen women born between 1880 and 1919 were identified, with biographical information about the artists: name, address, titles and/or professions, awards received and exhibitions in which they have participated. Through a documentary analysis and considering that the careers of women artists in the province of Buenos Aires have been scarcely recognized, the article seeks to answer: who were these women artists? What were their artistic trajectories? How many have heritage works in the MPBA, and what genres and themes did they choose? The aim is to contribute to the local art history, to learn about the presence and production of the first women artists from Buenos Aires recorded in the museum's archive.
