The Ocampo Sisters

Abstract

Two stately homes stand out amid the trees in a quiet Mar del Plata neighborhood: Villa Silvina and Villa Victoria. The former, which currently houses a school, is the place the youngest Ocampo sister chose for her vacations. The latter, which is now a municipal cultural center, was the summer home of the eldest of the six sisters. Erected diagonally across from each other, close by, but also in confrontation, these two buildings deploy – even if we consider their current purposes – certain coordinates which plot the chasms and proximities between the sisters' moods and legacies.
