Nuevo registro de Laonome sp. (Annelida, Sabellidae) en aguas interiores de la Ecorregión Pampa

Abstract

El género Laonome Malmgren, 1866 (Annelida: Sedentaria) pertenece a la familia Sabellidae. Una nueva especie, Laonome xeprovala, fue descrita en 2018 a partir de ejemplares hallados en el año 2009 en diferentes sitios de Europa y hasta ese momento desconocidos. En Argentina se registró por primera vez en el año 2019 en el Sistema del río Paraná y tributarios, desde Santa Fe hasta el tramo medio-inferior, determinándose mediante estudios moleculares que se trataba de la misma especie hallada en Europa. En el presente trabajo se registraron especímenes de este género en noviembre de 2022 en la localidad de General Lavalle, en tres sitios del Canal 2 (canal artificial que vuelca sus aguas en la zona estuarina del Río de la Plata), siendo hasta la fecha el registro más austral. Las muestras donde fueron hallados estos ejemplares se tomaron del bentos y de la vegetación asociada con draga Ekman y red de “tipo D”. Los organismos presentes fueron identificados y cuantificados. Los ejemplares de “poliquetos” fueron asignados a nivel de género por caracteres morfológicos mediante el uso de bibliografía y por comparación con ejemplares obtenidos en otros sitios de la Cuenca del Plata por otros investigadores. La identificación será oportunamente confirmada mediante análisis moleculares. Se determinó la densidad, la cual mostró valores entre 4 y 66 ind/m2. En relación con los macroinvertebrados se observó un importante porcentaje de crustáceos en los dos sitios más cercanos a la desembocadura (valores de densidad relativa entre 40 y 70%), coincidente con aguas más salobres, mientras que en el restante sitio predominaron los insectos (valores mayores al 50%).

The genus Laonome Malmgren, 1866 (Annelida: Sedentaria) belongs to the Sabellidae family. A new species, Laonome xeprovala, was described in 2018 based on specimens found in 2009 at different sites in Europe and unknown until then. In Argentina, it was recorded for the first time in 2019 in the Paraná River System and tributaries, from Santa Fe to the middle-lower stretch, molecular studies determined that it was the same species found in Europe. In this study, specimens of this genus were recorded in November 2022 at the locality of General Lavalle, at three sites of Canal 2 (an artificial canal flowing into the estuarine area of the Río de la Plata), being to date the southernmost record. The samples where these specimens were found were collected from the benthos and associated vegetation using an Ekman dredge and a D-net. The organisms found were identified and quantified. The “polychaete” specimens were assigned to the genus level by morphological characters using bibliography and by comparison with specimens obtained from other sites in the Río de La Plata Basin by other researchers. The identification will be confirmed by molecular analysis. The density was determined, showing values between 4 and 66 ind/m2. In relation to the macroinvertebrates, an important percentage of crustaceans were observed at the two sites closest to the mouth (relative density values between 40 and 70%), consistent with more brackish waters, while insects predominated at the remaining site (values greater than 50%).
