Individuación y despersonalización en mapudungun: Una contribución al estudio de la referencialidad en lenguas amerindias

Abstract

Exploraré aquí el dominio de la referencialidad en mapudungun (andina periférica, aislada, centrosur de Chile y sur de Argentina, Sudamérica). Un estudio de la referencialidad necesariamente abarca dos dimensiones: la individuación de los referentes y su anclaje en el discurso (Lehmann, 2015). Este artículo se centra en algunas estrategias de individuación, en particular, la identificación, democión o realce, y supresión de referentes, a partir del análisis de la construcción inversa, la voz pasiva y la incorporación nominal en esta lengua, tópicos con importante trayectoria de investigación a ambos lados de los Andes. Me propongo, por un lado, unificar y profundizar resultados de mi autoría en diálogo con los de otros investigadores sobre estos temas, en el marco de una teoría de la referencia y, por otro, proporcionar nueva evidencia para la hipótesis de que el mapudungun se caracteriza por la prevalencia de los rasgos semántico-pragmáticos de los referentes sobre los roles temáticos en la determinación de las funciones sintácticas (Golluscio, 2010). En la primera parte, identifico y comparo los valores referenciales del agente en las construcciones inversa y pasiva. En la segunda parte, pongo el foco en la incorporación nominal, proceso productivo en mapudungun, incluyendo verbos intransitivos en el análisis. Finalmente, propongo una explicación integral desde la perspectiva de la individuación que abarca los tres fenómenos aquí considerados.

I will explore the domain of referentiality in Mapudungun (peripheral Andean, isolate, Central Southern Chile and Southern Argentina, South America). A study of referentiality necessarily encompasses two dimensions: the individuation of referents and their anchorage in discourse (Lehmann, 2015). This article focuses on some individuation strategies, in particular, the identification, demotion or highlighting, and deletion of referents in this language, based on an analysis of the inverse construction, the passive voice, and noun incorporation, all of which have been subject to research on both sides of the Andes. I therefore aim, on the one hand, to unify and expand on accounts of my own authorship along with those of other researchers, within the framework of a theory of reference, and on the other hand, to provide new evidence for the hypothesis that Mapudungun is characterized by the prevalence of the semantic-pragmatic features of the referents involved over thematic roles in determining syntactic functions (Golluscio, 2010). In the first part, I identify and compare the referential values of the agent in inverse and passive constructions. In the second part, I focus on noun incorporation, a productive process in Mapudungun, including intransitive verbs in the analysis. Finally, I propose an integral explanation from the perspective of individuation encompassing the three phenomena here considered.
