Abstract

After a short introduction of the history and development of megachurches in Latin America, we provide four case studies of megachurches in Buenos Aires, Guatemala City, Asunción, and Mexico City. Each case study follows a similar format, starting with short overviews of the country and capital city, the founder and history of the megachurch, followed by its leadership structure, cell group system, dominant theologies, ties to national and international Pentecostal networks, activities in mass and social media, evangelization strategies, member profile, and an analysis of growth factors. The final part provides a short summary and conclusion.
