Paisajes teóricos del antropoceno

Abstract

En el presente artículo busco efectuar un mapeo de la reciente dirección postextual de la teoría. Para ello, el escrito efectúa dos movimientos: en primer lugar, se establece una articulación entre el concepto de mapa cognitivo de Fredric Jameson y el de atlas de Anna Tsing. En segundo lugar, se recuperan tres indicios de los desplazamientos en las discusiones teóricas: el distanciamiento con el giro lingüístico, la crítica de la excepcionalidad humana y las discusiones en torno a la mediación kantiana. Luego de analizar los aspectos generales de un mapa de la teoría contemporánea, se indica cómo desde allí surgen ciertas discusiones políticas. En resumidas cuentas, el objetivo del texto es dar cuenta de ciertas coordenadas que permitan la orientación teórica.

In this paper, I seek to delineate the recent post-textual direction of theory. To this end, the text undertakes two key moves: firstly, it articulates a connection between Fredric Jameson’s concept of cognitive map and Anna Tsing’s concept of the atlas. Secondly, it identifies three indicators of shifts in theoretical discourse: the move away from the linguistic turn, the critique of human exceptionalism, and the debates surrounding Kantian mediation. After analysing the general aspects of a contemporary theoretical map, it demonstrates how certain political discussions emerge from it. In short, the aim of the text is to provide an account of certain guidelines that enable theoretical orientation.
