Southamerica Fishtail Projectile Points Database

Abstract

The Fish Points (FTP) database for South America was created from published data generated in our own investigations and was also obtained by a bibliographic research we performed. It counts with 173 FTP sites registers. The 9 data fields are "ID2": Identification code for each site; "Location_name": Site name; "FTP_N": number of FTP registered fot the site; "Find_context": indicates if the FTP was foun in the terrain surface, in a stratigraphic excavation or if it is part of a collection; "Ecorregion": sensu Griffith et al. (1998); Longitude/Latitude: geolocalization (unit: decimal degrees, Coordinates Reference System: EPSG 4326-WGS84 - unit: decimal degrees): Reference: bibliographic reference for the information, Metadata_geolocalization_error: identifies the method for the geolocalization of each data bit and the error estimation for the location (ranging from 5m to 20 km).
