Resumen
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in exploring sustainable and eco-friendly sample preparation techniques in analytical chemistry, going after Green Analytical Chemistry (GAC). Infrared (IR) sample preparation has emerged as a viable and promising alternative, offering numerous benefits from both environmental and analytical perspectives. This review delves into the green aspects of IR sample preparation, discussing its potential to reduce hazardous waste, energy consumption, and overall environmental impact. Additionally, the paper provides insights into the future outlook of this innovative approach, highlighting its potential applications and implications for various analytical fields. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing research and developments, this study aims to shed light through green metrics on the suitability and potential of IR radiation for sample preparation as an eco-conscious and efficient solution in modern analytical chemistry practices.
