Resumen
Soil health can be improved by reducing soil disturbance, enhancing biodiversity, maintainingsoil cover, and maintaining continuous plant growth. Expanding these principlesby the implementation of SI can yield multiple benefits beyond improved productivity and land use efficiency. It can also help reduce weed presence and erosion, while simultaneously enhancing nutrient content and promoting microbial abundance and diversity in the soil. By adopting the SI approach, farmers can achieve higher efficiency in crop production per unit of time and area, in a more environmentally sustainable manner, which ultimately leads to increased C sequestration in the soil. Overall, SI can significantly improve soil health and fertility, increasing crop yields and reducing environmental impact while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
