What have been the impacts of the sweeping expansion of soybean production in South America, particularly in Argentina? This was the first Latin American country where genetically modified soybeans were adopted, and from where it expanded to South America. Answers to this question bring to mind the metaphor of the proverbial double-edged sword: depending on who and where you ask, people can paint a forlorn landscape or invoke a plentiful boon.
