Construcción, forma y espacio: Notas sobre las ideas de Cesar Jannello en la década de 1950

Abstract

Este trabajo explora las ideas que constituyeron el universo de referencia del arquitecto Cesar Jannello en la década del 50. Para ello se revisa la trayectoria del autor, sus vínculos con diferentes grupos de artistas y arquitectos de la época, y los desarrollos en torno a los temas de construcción, forma y espacio. Ellos formaron parte del debate disciplinar a partir de artículos publicados en revistas especializadas y en libros dedicados a Max Bill y Mies van der Rohe. Adquieren importancia las nociones sobre el espacio dinámico del artista húngaro László Moholy-Nagy, presentadas en el libro The New Vision e incluidas en la materia Visión que también dictó Jannello. Se pretende verificar el alcance de tales planteos teóricos en el método de diseño llevado adelante por Jannello en los pabellones para la Feria Internacional de América en Mendoza (1952-1954) y para la Feria del Sesquicentenario en Buenos Aires (1960).

This paper explores the ideas that constituted the universe of reference of the architect Cesar Jannello in the 1950's. To this end, the author's trajectory, his links with different groups of artists and architects of the time, and the developments around the themes of construction, form and space are reviewed. They were part of the disciplinary debate through articles published in specialized magazines and books dedicated to Max Bill and Mies van der Rohe. The notions on dynamic space of the Hungarian artist László MoholyNagy, presented in the book The New Vision and included in the subject Vision, also taught by Jannello, gain importance. The aim is to verify the scope of such theoretical approaches in the design method carried out by Jannello in the pavilions for the International Fair of America in Mendoza (1952-1954) and for the Sesquicentennial Fair in Buenos Aires (1960).
