Educación y laicismo en San Juan: Aproximaciones a partir de los gobiernos de Federico y Aldo Cantoni

Abstract

Mi trabajo, a grandes rasgos, aborda la organización de la educación común en San Juan entre fines del siglo XIX y las primeras tres décadas del XX. En relación a ello, en esta oportunidad centro el interés en las dos gobernaciones de Federico Cantoni (1923-1925; 1932-1934) y la única Aldo Cantoni (1926-1928). Particularmente expondré parte de las medidas tomadas en dichas gestiones con el objetivo de modificar el perfil de las escuelas públicas de provincia, destacando en esto la declaración de laicidad en materia educativa mediante la reforma constitucional efectuada en 1927.

My work, broadly speaking, addresses the organization of common education in San Juan between the end of the 19th century and the first three decades of the 20th. In relation to this, on this occasion I focused interest on the two governorships of Federico Cantoni (1923-1925; 1932- 1934) and the only one Aldo Cantoni (1926-1928). In particular, I will expose part of the measures taken in these efforts with the objective of modifying the profile of public schools in the province, highlighting in this the declaration of secularism in educational matters through the constitutional reform carried out in 1927.
