Huellas y borramientos: la cautiva indígena en la literatura argentina

Abstract

Antes de las cautivas blancas, hubo otras cautivas. ¿Dónde se halla narrado el rapto de esas mujeres indígenas? ¿Qué sucede con ese cautiverio en la literatura argentina? A partir de ciertos lazos y vínculos con otros mundos latinoamericanos, como el andino, este texto se pregunta por la pervivencia de ciertas imágenes y la ausencia de otras y propone pensar en un dinámico sistema de recurrencias que opera eficazmente hasta el presente en nuestra literatura. El abordaje de cierta novelística contemporánea que busca hallarle forma al motivo desplazado del cautiverio indígena ha sido una manera de interrogar los modos y la naturaleza de ciertos silencios.

Before the white captive, there was another one. Where is the story of the abduction of those indigenous women? What happens with this captivity in Argentine literature? Based on certain ties and links with other Latin American worlds, such as the Andean world, this text asks about the survival of certain images and the absense of others and proposes to think about a dynamic system of recurrences that operates effectively to this day in our literature. The approach of certain contemporary novels that seek to find form for the displaced motif of indigenous captivity has been a way of questioning the modes and nature of certain silences.
