La batalla austral: Antártida y Malvinas durante la gestión de Arturo Frondizi (1958-1962)

Abstract

El objetivo del artículo es interpretar la diplomacia austral como parte de la resignificación de la Patagonia en el gobierno de Arturo Frondizi. La hipótesis procura demostrar que la diplomacia se articuló con las representaciones de la Patagonia como epicentro de las “batallas” constitutivas de la “segunda conquista al desierto”. Según la perspectiva de la Geopolítica Crítica y a través de documentación estatal, periodística y legislativa proponemos incorporar a la diplomacia austral como una nueva batalla patagónica bajo el formato de lucha territorial por la soberanía.

The objective of the article is to interpret the southern diplomacy as part of the redefinition of Patagonia in the government of Arturo Frondizi. The hypothesis seeks to demonstrate that diplomacy was articulated with the representations of Patagonia as the epicenter of the "battles" constituting the "second conquest of the desert." From the perspective of Critical Geopolitics and through state, journalistic and legislative documentation, we propose to incorporate southern diplomacy as a new Patagonian battle under the format of territorial struggle for sovereignty.
