Filosofía, política y verdad: la filosofía como actividad de diagnóstico en Michel Foucault

Abstract

En este artículo nos proponemos aportar al presente dossier –centrado en la interrelación entre las nociones de filosofía, política y verdad– mediante el análisis de la manera en que Michel Foucault caracterizó la filosofía como actividad de diagnóstico de la actualidad. En dicho marco, revisaremos el modo en que la formación de las ciencias humanas, en tanto discursos de verdad respecto de “lo humano”, se ha configurado como blanco recurrente del trabajo foucaultiano de diagnosticar el presente. Por lo tanto, no nos proponemos abordar la cuestión de la política como tópico dentro del corpus foucaultiano, sino más bien de cifrar la dimensión política de la filosofía foucaultiana en su preocupación por desentrañar el presente.

In this article we would like to contribute to this dossier – focused on the interrelation of the notions of philosophy, politics, and truth – by analyzing the way in which Michel Foucault characterized philosophy as a diagnosis activity of the present. We will thus review the way in which the formation of the human sciences, as discourses of truth regarding “the human”, has been configured as a recurrent target of the Foucaultian work of diagnosing the present. Therefore, we do not intend to address the question of politics as a topic within the Foucaultian corpus, but rather to examine the political dimension of the Foucaultian philosophy in its concern to unravel the present.
