Algunas notas sobre subjetividad y veridicción en la lógica populista: A propósito de una carta a Perón

Abstract

La pervivencia y pregnancia del peronismo en el centro del escenario político argentino, con múltiples transformaciones en los últimos 75 años, ha reactualizado periódicamente la disputa por su caracterización. Al mismo tiempo, la pregunta por el populismo, en cuanto categoría teórica para el análisis histórico, pero también como horizonte para la estrategia política contemporánea, insiste en retornar dentro del ámbito político-intelectual latinoamericano. Movilizados por estos interrogantes, en este artículo realizaremos un trabajo de articulación intertextual, entendiendo los registros teórico y empírico como secuencias discursivas que se contaminan y modifcan de forma recíproca. Específcamente, analizaremos una carta enviada a Perón por un productor agropecuario del interior de la provincia de Córdoba a fnes de 1951, a la luz de un debate teórico sobre el populismo como gramática de confguración comunitaria, que presta atención a su impacto en las dinámicas subjetivas de quienes son capaces de hablar verídicamente en una sociedad y momento determinados. Conjeturamos que la persistencia del fenómeno peronista tiene que ver con el lazo populista de Perón con aquellas personadas interpeladas por su mensaje, constituido en un vínculo subjetivo que abrió un espacio para la identifcación política. La re-descripción teórico-analítica supone ver al peronismo como una forma de representación comunitaria que se despliega en la trama constituida por la narrativa ofcial y por las interpretaciones de quienes se identifcaban con ella. Indagando sobre el modo en que ciudadanos/as interpretaban al peronismo, nos preguntamos: ¿qué tipo de lazo se establece entre el remitente de la carta y el discurso más general que lo interpela, pero con el que también debate? ¿Qué nos puede decir ese lazo de la lógica de constitución comunitaria populista mediante la que el peronismo edifcó su perdurabilidad en la historia argentina?

The survival and relevance of Peronism at the centre of the Argentine political scene, with multiple transformations over the last 75 years, has periodically revived the dispute over its characterisation. At the same time, the question of populism, as a theoretical category for historical analysis, but also as a horizon for contemporary political strategy, keeps returning in the Latin American political-intellectual sphere. Motivated by these questions, in this article we propose a problematisation exercise that retains the complexity of the Peronist phenomenon, while at the same time taking up some of the lines of debate on the specifcity of populism as a logic of community confguration. We will carry out a work of inter-textual articulation, understanding the theoretical and empirical registers as discursive sequences that contaminate and modify each other. Specifcally, we will analyse a letter sent to Perón by an agricultural producer from the interior of the province of Córdoba at the end of 1951, in relation to a categorical corpus around the discussion of the specifcity of populist logic as a grammar of community confguration. We suggest that the Peronist phenomenon has to do with Perón’s populist bond with his followers, constituted in a subjective link that opened up a space for political identifcation. Theoretical-analytical re-description implies seeing Peronism as a form of communitarian representation that unfolds in the fabric constituted by the offcial narrative and by the interpretations of those who are questioned by it. Inquiring into the way in which citizens interpreted Peronism, we ask ourselves: what kind of link is established between the sender of the letter and the more general discourse that challenges him or her, but with which he or she also debates? What does this link tell us about the logic of populist communitarian constitution through which Peronism built its durability in Argentine history?
