Modelos tecnológicos: Producción lítica y habitus en la estructura 4A de Las Escondidas

Abstract

Buscando aportar a la comprensión de los modos de vida desde el estudio de la tecnología lítica, analicé el conjunto artefactual lítico de una estructura de Las Escondidas (Antofagasta de la Sierra, Catamarca). Puse en diálogo modelos arqueológicos en uso en Antofagasta de la Sierra -de raigambre adaptativa- con un enfoque que destaca el rol social de la tecnología en la construcción del mundo. Me interesé por las disposiciones del habitus tecnológico que habilitaba y restringía las elecciones involucradas en la elaboración, mantenimiento y uso de los instrumentos líticos en este contexto.Construí un modelo tecnológico para el contexto analizado, el cual representa el repertorio habilitado por el habitus tecnológico expresado en los atributos del conjunto artefactual. La variabilidad material, técnica, procedimental y de puntos finales del conjunto analizado permite profundizar en la complejidad de la tecnología lítica del primer milenio A.D. en la región.

In order to contribute, from lithic technology studies, to understand ways of life, I analyzed the lithic artifact assemblage from a structure of Las Escondidas (Antofagasta de la Sierra, Catamarca). I put into dialogue archaeological models in use in Antofagasta de la Sierra –of adaptive roots– with an approach that highlights the social role of technology in the construction of the world. I became interested in the dispositions of the technological habitus that enabled and restricted the choices involved in the making, maintenance, and use of stone tools in this context. I built a technological model for the analyzed context, which represents the repertoire enabled by the technological habitus expressed in the attributes of the artifactual set. The material, technical, procedural, and endpoint variability of the analyzed assemblage allows us to delve into the complexity of the lithic technology of the first millennium A.D. in the region.
