Abstract

Dr. Carla Riva-Rossi has over 25 years’ experience studying the evolutionary ecology of anadromous fishes. She received an MS in biological sciences from the Facultad de Ciencias Naturales, Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia in Argentina and a PhD in biology from the Universidad Nacional del Comahue. She carried out postdoctoral research in salmonid population genetics at the Centro Nacional Patagónico, CONICET, and she is now an Adjunct Researcher at the Instituto de Diversidad y Ecología Austral (IDEAus-CONICET). There, she leads the research group of Ecology, Evolution, and Habitat of Migratory Fish in Patagonia, mentoring postgraduate students and young researchers in fish taxonomy, systematics, population genetics, and ecology.
