Nivel de conocimiento sobre lactancia materna y su relación con factores sociodemográficos en gestantes adolescentes que asisten a consulta prenatal, de la ciudad de San Salvador de Jujuy

Abstract

OBJETIVO: evaluar el nivel de conocimiento sobre lactancia materna y su relación con los factores sociodemográficos en gestantes adolescentes que asisten a consulta prenatal a los CAPS, pertenecientes al barrio Alto Comedero, de la ciudad de San Salvador de Jujuy, en el año 2021. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 40 gestantes adolescentes entre 12 a 19 años que asistieron a consulta durante los meses enero-febrero del año 2021. RESULTADOS: en el momento del estudio, no hubo madres adolescentes entrevistadas menores de 15 años, la totalidad tenían entre 15 a 19 años y residían en el barrio Alto Comedero. La mayoría de ellas contaban con secundaria completa, se dedicaban únicamente a sus estudios, y percibían un ingreso económico inferior a un Sueldo Mínimo Vital Móvil. Gran parte de las mismas eran primíparas, no convivían con su pareja y manifestaron que su embarazo actual no fue deseado. Respecto al nivel de conocimiento, un 62,5% (n=25) presentaron conocimiento regular, 22,5% (n=9) conocimiento insu­ficiente y solo el 15% (n=6) bueno. Se encontró asociación significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre LM con los ingresos económicos y situación conyugal. CONCLUSIONES: se encontró que las adolescentes embarazadas presentaban mayor desconocimiento en tema de extracción y almacenamiento de la leche materna, así como el momento ideal para el inicio de la lactancia.

OBJECTIVE: to evaluate the level of knowledge about breastfeeding and its relationship with sociodemographic factors in pregnant adolescents who attend prenatal consultation at the CAPS, belonging to the Alto Comedero neighbourhood, of the city of San Salvador de Jujuy, in the year 2021. MATERIAL AND METHOD: a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out. The sample consisted of 40 pregnant teenagers between 12 and 19 years old who attended a consultation during the months of January-February of the year 2021. RESULTS: at the time of the study, there were no adolescent mothers under 15 years of age interviewed, the majority were between 15 and 19 years of age and lived in the Alto Comedero neighborhood. Most of them had completed high school, dedicated themselves solely to their studies, and received an economic income of less than a Mobile Minimum Vital Wage. Most of them were primiparous, did not live with their partner and stated that their actual pregnancy was unwanted. Regarding the level of knowledge, 62.5% (n=25) presented regular knowledge, 22.5% (n=9) insufficient knowledge and only 15% (n=6) good knowledge. A significant association was found between the level of knowledge about BF with economic income and marital status. CONCLUSIONS: it was found that pregnant adolescents had greater ignorance on the issue of extraction and storage of breast milk, as well as the ideal time to start breastfeeding.
