Resumen
A Typical Meteorological Year (TMY) was developed with a new method that combines the weighting factors from four sets of different TMY generators. The definition of the TMY is fundamental for elaborating the climatic file used by the Energy Simulation of Buildings codes. This work is dedicated to the definition of the TMY in the city of Salta, Argentina, to be applied in the design of low-income housing, for the sizing of photovoltaic systems, solar collectors, and air and water heaters. It was based on data provided by the National Meteorological Service (SMN) of Argentina on various meteorological variables recorded hourly intervals over 11 years (2006-2016). This book also presents the application of the TMY in social housing, through the SIMEDIF program, the energy demands for cooling and heating were estimated so that the interior of the house is within the comfort temperature range.
