Pasado y presente: imaginar utopías feministas desde el sur

Abstract

Este trabajo recupera elementos utópicos en discursos nacidos de prácticas feministas en Abya Yala. Parte de una delimitación de la noción de utopía que pone en diálogo sus raíces históricas con formas de ejercicio de la función utópica en el presente. Algunas experiencias feministas situadas y vinculadas a la defensa de los bienes comunes se presentan como utopías de retorno del tiempo pasado, como un desandar las marcas de la colonización. De allí la pregunta por los anudamientos entre pasado y presente, por la cita secreta que convoca a Moro en el ejercicio actual de la función utópica. Las feministas del Abya Yala, defensoras de sus territorios naturales y corporales, traen el pasado al presente en sus luchas bajo el supuesto de que existe una continuidad entre seres humanos y naturaleza. Señalan la imposibilidad de reproducción de la vida bajo la lógica de acumulación capitalista y el avance sobre la naturaleza inaugurado con el expolio colonial, a la vez que proyectan otras formas de organización social. Algo semejante hizo Moro en el siglo XVI. Denunciaba la imposibilidad de reproducción de la vida en la Inglaterra de su tiempo e imaginaba un islote de futuro donde hallarían repuesta los conflictos de Inglaterra. La imaginación lo lanzaba hacia el futuro y hacia el lugar sin lugar que era América para los europeos de su tiempo. Si la respuesta les separa, una manera afín de considerar las condiciones efectivas de existencia les aproxima bajo la forma de imaginación utópica.

This work recovers utopian elements in discourses born from feminist practices in Abya Yala. It starts from a delimitation of the notion of utopia that puts its historical roots in dialogue with forms of exercise of the utopian function in the present. Some feminist experiences situated and linked to the defense of common goods are presented as utopias of return of the past, as a retracing of the marks of colonization. Hence the question about the ties between past and present, about the secret rendezvous that summons More in the current exercise of the utopian function. Feminists in Abya Yala, defenders of their natural and corporeal territories, bring the past to the present in their struggles under the assumption that there is continuity between human beings and nature. They point out the impossibility of reproducing life under the logic of capitalist accumulation and the advance on nature inaugurated with colonial plunder, while projecting other forms of social organization. More had done something similar in the 16th century. He denounced the impossibility of reproducing life in the England of his time and imagined an island of future where England’s conflicts would be solved. Imagination launched him towards the future and towards the placeless place that was America for the Europeans of his time. If the answer separates them, a similar way of considering the effective conditions of existence brings them closer in the form of utopian imagination.
