Teatro en comunidad: Una propuesta de estudio a partir del caso del teatro comunitario argentino

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar una propuesta teórico-metodológica para el abordaje de una práctica teatral que se define como comunitaria. Las observaciones y análisis surgen del estudio sobre el teatro comunitario en Argentina, fenómeno que consiste en grupos de vecinos y vecinas que se reúnen con la finalidad de hacer teatro por y para su comunidad. A partir de teorizaciones que han analizado de modo crítico el estudio de las culturas populares, realizamos una revisión de los antecedentes del teatro comunitario a fin de caracterizar la práctica desde una perspectiva que tenga en cuenta su historicidad y heterogeneidad.

The objective of this article is to present a theoretical-methodological proposal to approach a theatrical practice known as community theatre. The observations and analysis arise from the study on community theater in Argentina, a phenomenon that consists of groups of neighbors who gather themselves with the objective of making theatre, a theatre by the community and for the community. Based on theories that have critically analyzed the study of popular cultures, we review the background of community theater in order to characterize the practice from a perspective that takes into account its historicity and heterogeneity.
