Cielos patagónicos: patrimonio y recurso turístico

Abstract

La presente investigación trata sobre turismo científico astronómico, posicionándolo como agente socializador del conocimiento científico y como una opción complementaria para el desarrollo local en la oferta turística del Chubut. El objetivo fue desarrollar herramientas tecnológicas tendientes a virtualizar un evento astronómico en condiciones de pandemia, incrementando su accesibilidad pública y observación segura. A su vez, se analizaron los cielos oscuros de la provincia desde un enfoque patrimonial y de recurso turístico mediante un abordaje de tipo colaborativo y participativo. Los resultados de la experiencia fueron alentadores, registrándose unos 5000 usuarios en más de media docena de países quienes aprovecharon los contenidos generados a través de internet. Asimismo, se realizó un muestreo mediante un cuestionario semi estructurado y de oportunidad, analizando la percepción acerca de la conservación del cielo patagónico y su visión del mismo como patrimonio; la intención para desarrollar propuestas astronómicas en diferentes localidades y la voluntad del sector turístico local para incrementar su formación en temas astronómicos. El estudio también abordó la calidad de los cielos patagónicos mediante el uso de Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG); diseñó y planificó un abordaje alternativo de un evento astronómico concebido para la presencialidad a través de la aplicación de herramientas tecnológicas y destacó la condición patrimonial de los cielos patagónicos.

The present investigation deals with astronomical scientific tourism, positioning it as a socializing agent of scientific knowledge and as a complementary option for local development in the tourist offer of Chubut. The objective was to develop technological tools aimed at virtualizing an astronomical event in pandemic conditions, increasing its public accessibility and safe observation. In turn, the dark skies of the province were analysed from a heritage and tourist resource approach through a collaborative and participatory approach. The results of the experience were encouraging, registering some 5,000 users in more than half a dozen countries who took advantage of the content generated through the Internet. Likewise, a sampling was carried out through a semi-structured and opportunity questionnaire, analysing the perception about the conservation of the patagonian sky and its vision of it as heritage; the intention to develop astronomical proposals in different locations and the willingness of the local tourism sector to increase their training in astronomical issues. The study also addressed the quality of the Patagonian skies through the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS); designed and planned an alternative approach to an astronomical event conceived for face-to-face through the application of technological tools and highlighted the patrimonial condition of the Patagonian skies.
