¿Qué es noticia para el periodismo digital local? Criterios de noticiabilidad en cinco sitios de noticias online de una ciudad intermedia de Argentina en 2022

Abstract

Se analizan los criterios de noticiabilidad que rigen las prácticas periodísticas de cinco portales informativos online de la ciudad de Olavarría, Buenos Aires, Argentina, en el año 2022. Los objetivos de la investigación son: identificar si las noticias son redactadas por periodistas del medio; identificar los tópicos de las noticias en la conformación de la agenda noticiosa; identificar los criterios de noticiabilidad que rigen en los principales tópicos analizados y comprender los valores noticiosos desde los significados que los periodistas les otorgan a sus prácticas. Para alcanzar estos objetivos se propone una estrategia mixta, cuantitativa y cualitativa, con técnicas de recolección y producción de datos, tales como el análisis de contenido sobre un corpus de 175 noticias y entrevistas semiestructuradas a periodistas locales. Los principales hallazgos de este trabajo radican en el predominio de información de alcance local, que tiene como principales tópicos la información deportiva y policiales y, como principales criterios de noticiabilidad el impacto de la noticia, la proximidad, la jerarquía de los actores involucrados y el entretenimiento. En las conclusiones se problematiza el rol del periodismo local y su relevancia para las comunidades próximas a las cuales se dirige.

The criteria of newsworthiness that govern the journalistic practices of five online news portals in the city of Olavarría, Buenos Aires, Argentina in the year 2022 are analysed. The objectives of the research are: to identify if the news is written by journalists of the medium; to identify the topics of the news in the conformation of the news agenda; to identify the criteria of newsworthiness that govern the main topics analysed and to understand the news values from the meanings that journalists give to their practices. In order to achieve these objectives, a mixed quantitative and qualitative strategy is proposed, using data collection and production techniques such as content analysis on a corpus of 175 news items and semi-structured interviews with local journalists. The main findings of this work lie in the predominance of information of local scope, with the main topics being sports and police information, and the main criteria for newsworthiness being the impact of the news, proximity, the hierarchy of the actors involved and entertainment. In the conclusions, the role of local journalism and its relevance for the communities to which it is addressed are discussed.
