Resumen
Building on a symmetrical approach (Olsen 2012), in this chapter I analyze the role of chullpas in the Inca conquest of the southern Altiplano. Firstly, I describe the chullpas of Lípez and the different contexts in which they appear during the Later Intermediate and Inca Periods. Then, on the basis of these data, I point out the continuities and changes in the way chullpas engaged with people. Thirdly, I discuss the role of chullpas in the domination of the southern Altiplano by the Inca.
