Cuando la protesta fue legítima: Un estudio sobre las representaciones del conflicto agrario en 2008 a través del diario La Nación

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar las representaciones sobre el conocido conflicto “campo-gobierno”, que tuvo lugar en la Argentina durante el primer semestre de 2008 en virtud del nuevo esquema impositivo establecido por el Poder Ejecutivo nacional a comienzos de ese año sobre las exportaciones de soja. En esta dirección, se pretende avanzar en el estudio del proceso de construcción de legitimidades políticas, ideológicas y morales en dicho conflicto. Sin obviar las implicancias político-económicas, analizaremos ese aspecto del conflicto a través de uno de los principales medios de información: el diario La Nación. Así, analizamos 588 declaraciones registradas entre el 8 y el 17 de julio de 2008, emitidas por una heterogénea serie de personificaciones sociales. Mediante dicho relevamiento pretendemos estudiar las interpretaciones sobre los diversos acontecimientos que dieron forma al conflicto, los sectores sociales enfrentados y sus objetivos. La hipótesis que atraviesa el trabajo es considerar que estos aspectos son importantes para entender alianzas, estrategias, objetivos y el movimiento de fracciones sociales en el entramado de una pugna por intereses económicos y políticos.

This paper aims to analyze the representations of the known conflict “farming-government”, that took place in Argentina during the first half of 2008 under the new tax system established by the National Executive earlier this year on soybean exports. In this direction, we intend to advance the study of the process of setting-up political, ideological and moral legitimacy in that conflict. Without ignoring the political and economic implications, we discuss that aspect of the conflict through a major media: the newspaper La Nación. Thus, we analyzed 588 statements recorded between July 8 and July 17, 2008, issued by a heterogeneous set of social personifications. Through this survey we analyze the interpretations produced about the various events that gave shape to the conflict, the confronted social sectors and their goals. The hypothesis of the paper is to consider that these aspects are important to understanding alliances, strategies, objectives and the movement of social sectors in the framework of a struggle for economic and political gain.
