Resumen
The objective of this book is to identify the emotions that shape social policies to address poverty in their recipients, based on sociological research carried out in Argentina, exhibiting important coincidences with state interventions at a global level. In a context of increasing poverty, welfare state crises, health crises, and populist governments, the ways in which the State decides to intervene through social policies translate into emotions. The analysis of social policies from the sociology of bodies/emotions incorporates that extra understanding of the social structures of the 21st century. The book analyzes the incorporation of emotions into discussions about well-being and feelings, the participation of women in social policies as a way of producing and reproducing a social order, and the dimension of uncertainty, trust, and fear from these interventions. Along with this, the meanings of cash transfers the constant appeal to insufficiency and the energy limit in policies towards the situation of poverty. The book seeks to design the sensibilities configured over the years in the population in poverty and recipients of state policies, in order to understand new social architectures.
