La intervención papal en los escenarios conflictivos de la Orden de los Frailes Menores

Abstract

A lo largo del siglo XIII e inicios del XIV en el seno de la Orden de los Frailes Menores se sucedieron diversos escenarios de conflicto que encontramos referenciados en los documentos. Tanto dispositivos internos como externos se implementaron para la regulación y el control de los hermanos. Existió, también, dentro de ese marco regulatorio la intervención externa llevada a cabo por los distintos pontífices. El objetivo de este aporte es realizar un relevamiento de los diversos arbitrajes y directrices realizados por siete pontífices que tuvieron como finalidad regular la actividad considerada ilegal o ilegítima y las situaciones de conflictividad existente entre frailes o grupos de frailes de la Orden. A su vez, tratar de reconstruir frente a cuáles situaciones buscaban interferir y las formas diversas de intervención que tuvo la envestidura papal.

Throughout the thirteenth century and the beginning of the fourteenth, within the Order of Friars Minors, there were various conflict stages that we find referenced in the documents. Both internal and external devices were implemented for the regulation and control of the friars. There was also, within this regulatory framework, the external intervention carried out by the different pontiffs. The aim of this contribution is to carry out a survey of the various arbitrations and directives carried out by seven pontiffs whose purpose was to regulate the activity considered illegal or illegitimate and the situations of conflict between friars or groups of friars of the Order. At the same time, try to reconstruct in the face of which situations they sought to interfere and the various forms of intervention that the papal investiture had.
